Black Moon April 30, 2022 ⬅︎
Since the moon is on a 29.5 day cycle, it is possible to have two New Moons in a month if the first one falls on the first day of the month.

April 2022 has two New Moons, one on April 1 and the other on April 30. The second one has a special name: Black Moon. Why? Since a New Moon is the phase in which the moon and sun are aligned in our sky, it is not possible to see the Moon because it is the dark, nighttime side of the moon that faces the earth and it is lost in the sun's glare. It is only when the Sun and Moon are perfectly aligned -- at a Solar Eclipse -- can a New Moon be detected.

Black Moons occur about every 29 months.
